Outplacement is the professional support, coaching, practical guidance and essential information to help people move to the next stage in their careers, either within their current organisations or elsewhere in the marketplace.

Organisations provide Outplacement support following individual or larger scale job redundancy, or significant corporate change. Individuals seek out outplacement or career management assistance when they need help to structure their job search, have been out of the job marketplace for some time or want to consider a new career direction.

This new direction might include change of industry; change of position; downscaling in job activity; the consideration of self-employment or consultancy; or the preparation for retirement, whether early or otherwise.
